History of the
Club
The Alliance of Writers and Editors
began as a small group of students meeting once a week to discuss topics
relating to writing and books. Meetings took place at the Coffeeberry
shop, located near the main University of La Verne campus during the Fall
semester 2004. However, as the semester progressed and students found it
harder to agree upon a convenient day and time to meet, there came the
demand for a more effective means of communicating with fellow writers.
Here the idea of taking the club's activities online made its promising
appeal to writers, who sought to satisfy their creative interests without
conflict against their demanding schedules.
