No Sex or Latex Campaign

What is the No Sex or Latex Campaign? Did you know that according to the Center for Disease Control, 1 in 1500 college students is HIV positive, and that 63% of all sexually transmitted disease (STD) cases occur among people less than 25 years of age? This is why Iota Delta sorority prides itself in educating the ULV and La Verne community on safe sex and abstinence.

What do we do? The No Sex or Latex Campaign is a fun-filled event that provides information about STDs, contraceptives, abstinence/celibacy. With games, treats, and assistance from the ULV Health Center, Counseling Center, Clubs and organizations, and Non-profit organizations, Iota Delta reaches out to the younger community. With a combination of sisterhood, dedication and loyalty, Iota Delta strides to educate the community while at the same time developing friendships, connections, and memories that will last a lifetime.

How does this help? The No Sex or Latex Campaign seeks both to reduce the risks of potentially negative outcomes from sexual behavior like unplanned pregnancies, and infection with sexually transmitted diseases. It also helps in developing people's ability to make responsible decisions. This campaign helps the ULV community by giving information in a unbiased way from their peers. Many times we can be exposed to a wide range of attitudes and beliefs in relation to sex and sexuality. They sometimes appear contradictory and confusing. For example, some health messages emphasis the risks and dangers associated with sexual activity and other media outlets promote the idea that being sexually active makes a person more attractive and mature. Iota Delta simply gives people the facts and lets the members of the community decide for themselves.
