Scholarship

Iota Delta's scholarship program is an extensive program that enriches the learning process for the members of the sorority. During the fall semester the scholarship program will host three in-services/workshops open to the ULV community include: Senior Project 411, Building Professional Resources using Technology, EXPLORATION: Who was I? Who am I? Who do I want to become? While also having several other requirements such as study sessions in the library, scholarship socials and banquets to celebrate scholastic achievement. These valuable skills not only help sisters in the academics but also through their pursuit of becoming a career woman of the twenty-first century. The members of Iota Delta can be found together laughing, helping, and studying. They believe in themselves and place a great value on their education. This is evident by our sorority and individual achievements such as, six Landis Leaders scholars, five members of the Order of the Omega national Greek honor society, thirteen girls who have achieved over a 3.75 GPA, as well as several members that are part of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Alpha Chi National honor societies. I next want to applaud our sisters who were inducted into the Order of Omega Honor Society in the Fall 2006 semester. Order of Omega is an honor society recognizing members of fraternities and sororities who are academically ranked above the undergraduate GPA, top 3%. Membership selection is also based on service to one's chapter, the Greek system, campus life, and the University and the community.

It is an honor to serve as Iota Delta's Scholarship Chair for the 2007 fall semester. The sisters of Iota Delta take great pride in both their schoolwork and being leaders within the community at large. One can often find the ladies of this fine sorority wearing red and green, speaking out as leaders in the classroom, taking part in various club activities, serving as RA's, teaching first year experience classes as Landis Scholars, along with various other purposeful activities including but not limited to internships, volunteer activities, and serving as mentors in mentoring programs. The gals of Iota Delta are represented as a major part of student life and academic fields and interest.
