Welcome to the Catholic Newman Club homepage here at the University of La Verne! We’re all glad that you took the time to visit us here. The spring semester 2002 is underway and we're ready to tackle it head on! The Fall semester was a doozy for all of us (including mr. webmaster here) and now that we have re-committed ourselves to serving the Lord and our club, we can't wait for whats in store of this semester! Thanks goes to everyone who stayed with us as well as wished us well. God Bless and we hope to see you during our Rosary meetings on wednesdays @ 12:30 pm.

- Hello everyone. It was great to see all the people who joined us for the Ash Wednesday service in the Quad. I would like to thank all those who came and shared that event with us. So.. the Lenten season has started and what have you given up for the next 40 days and 40 nights? hahaha. If you would like to know, I gave up my two passions, meat for the entire Lent and soda. And after just 5 days, I'm already going through withdrawals. Anyways, enough about me, I really hope to see you attend our Rosary praying Wednesday afternoons at 12:30pm, earlier from our 2:30pm time slot.

Site updates: hmm.. added events that we have during the week courtesy of Fr. Chris, the Catholic minister here at ULV, Newman Club moderator, and all around awesome guy. And on the top left of the home page I'll be posting a reading from the Bible for each day of Lent.

- Oh my, where have we been, you say? Well, to be honest everyone, during the start of the new school year the club has gone through its rough spots along the way and unfortunately the website suffered as well. So the Fall season came and went and not one thing has been done to our homely little website. You can call it lack of effort on my part, but I just call it plain laziness. But like the good people we are, we have made it through our tough times and our ready to get back on track. And if our graphic designer actually makes good on his promise, we are planning to redesign the entire website for a fresh new look. Currently i'm in the process of checking out the whole website: changing what needs to be changed, updating what needs to be updated, you know, that sort of thing. So until our next update (and there will be one), thanks to all who have stuck with us and God Bless.

Date: July 1st, 2001

- Hi everyone! sorry for being so late on the update but i do have some good information regarding the retreat up to Big Bear. From what i hear from the "higher-ups", the original reason for the confusion was that only 10 people were allowed to attend the retreat, and those 10 positions were filled up just from the officers. So the debate heated on about what if other people were interested and if they could attend or not. But here's a quote from our president regarding this problem, " I e-mailed Mr. Miank... regarding our little "controversy", and he said he doesn't have a set count per school. ... So, regardless of what was initially talked about at the retreat planning meeting we attended, right now we don't have a set count."So that definitely means that theres still a chance for you to attend, and to me, that's good news folks.

So if you still interested (and i know you are), please let us know so we can seriously count you in to join us in only the greatest retreat ever!! heheh, take care all.

p.s. I brought back the link for the info on the retreat as well as updated it with new info and...stuff. You can reach it HERE or on the "Events" page.

Date: June 21st, 2001

- Folks, bad news.... err semi-bad news. The Big Bear Retreat is going under serious discussions as to how many people are allowed to attend and if the officers are going and bla bla bla...Anyways, my deepest apologies for misleading some of you because we will sort all this confusion out and get back to you ASAP! So for now, the link to the Retreat is dead and invitations to attend are definitely on hold. Me Sorry :(

Date: June 17th, 2001

- Oh my, I'm doing all this upadting at 2 a.m.? Goes to show how committed we are to God and this club ;-) hehe! Anyways, the information regarding the Big Bear Retreat is finally here. Click HERE if you'd like to get some info on just whats happenin' for the retreat. Other changes to the website are merely cosmetic, as I'm now hard at work with the events page.

- The intro paragraph was changed, haha since this isn't our "first" year anymore.

- If you haven't noticed by now (then you must be blind) that we've finally made our appearance on Campus Times! Awesome scan done by yours truly (that's me, Brian) There will be a downloadable .pdf file posted soon so you can be able to read the actual article.

- New meeting times and other activites has been moved from the top of the page to a separate page you can access by clicking HERE or by checking out the "Events" page.

- And I think our little fish on the top left corner has run away to find a better life in the sea, farewell old friend...

Ok everybody, till next time!

Date: June 12th, 2001

-Hey all you Newman Club junkies! Brian here, and as annoying as I am, I'm here to let you in on some biiiiig news coming up for the club that has everyone of us excited! :-) During the Fall Semester of 2001-2002, the Newman Club will be having their very first RETREAT up at snowy, beautiful BIG BEAR!!! This is just a teaser to let all of you know or are interested, more info on the retreat will be up very, VERY soon (ok, Danny? :-P) Ok then, here are a list of updates to the site and things that will soon be updated:

- The members page has been completed (well, just about)... All the officers pics and bios have been uploaded and are ready to go

- Some links were corrected on the "Links" page especially if you found your self emailing a website you were trying to visit.

Soon to be updated:

- The "Events" page is the next on my "to do" list.... including the Canned Food Drive, The Commuter Fair and especially the retreat up to Big Bear :)

If i happen to forget to mention anything or should mention anything feel free to email us. Anyways, have a great summer!

Date: May 29th, 2001

- Wasup everyone!! This is Brian here, semi-web master of the Newman Club home page just letting everyone know that we are still alive and functional. Well, the spring semester is finally over and finals kicked our butts ;-) Me and Francis are busily working on finishing up this website (basically, we've just been too lazy cuz of summer and all), hehheh. Seriously folks, this has been a wonderful first year for the club and we thank everyone for all their support and help :) And a very special thanks go to the the president of the club, Alethea, who's basically worked her @$$ off so hard to make things happen here that none of us thought was possible, and she's got the stress to prove it so she deserves this vacation more than any of us, haha.

Date: May 11th, 2001

- Hello there, fellow Newman Club fans! Our member's page is becoming more and more complete by each passing day, and that's not all too. Hopefully, me and Francis will have the forums up so all of you can share you're thoughts. Anyways, take care and be prepared for a better update next time! :)

Date: May 8th, 2001

- Due to many ummm complaints *cough* Danny *cough* (j/k), many grammatical errors were fixed on this site. So far thats been changed:

- Fixed some text on the "About Newman" page

- Added a few more links and taken some links in the "Links" page

- The members pages is coming more and more into completion if the MEMBERS sent me their bios! ;)

Ok then....sooner or later, this web site will be up and running at full strength, thanks for hanging in there :)

Date: May 2nd, 2001

- Boy, I just love updating this web site :) anyways, this is still a minor update and basically we're just putting "filler" graphics and pictures to liven this place up! Our "About Newman" section has been fully updated and is ready to go. Our next objective is to update the "members" section so you can get a close look at the people running the show here for the club. Until then, Take care!

Date: April 30th, 2001

- Hi again, so far we've only been able to update a few links, but they aren't very useful since they contain absolutely nothing. Anyways, Francis and I are hard at work getting everything all set for the official launch of this web site. Thanks again!

Date: April 28, 2001

- Welcome to the pre-official launch of our Newman Club Website! As you can tell, a lot of the other pages on this site have absolutely little or no links. Basically, this is Francis' and my first attempt at a web page and we're making sure everything is working just fine before we get everything into gear. We hope you like what you see now, and be sure to visit us often, as we'll update this site as much as humanly possible :)
