Psi Chi Advisors & Officers
2007-2008

President: Michelle Alfaro
Hometown: Los Angeles

Hello Everyone! My name is Michelle Alfaro and I am currently a senior at the University of La Verne. I am a double major: psychology and religion, and I plan to graduate in the Spring of 2008. I am enthusiastic to be President of Psi Chi this year. I hope to continue the work that past officers have already accomplished and also add new projects and ideas that will help improve Psi Chi for future years. I look forward to working with this year’s officers and members, and we welcome all those who are interested in Psi Chi to our meetings. We hope to see both familiar and new faces this coming year.

Vice President: Lorena Bustos
Hometown:
Hello, my name is Lorena and I am a senior at ULV and the Vice-President of Psi Chi. I am a full-time student hoping to graduate in Spring 2008. I transferred from Cal State Long Fullerton after my freshmen year, and I love ULV.  It is a great campus where I have learned a lot and have become very involved, especially with Psi Chi.  Besides going to school I work full-time in S. Pasadena and I am a mom. I love to spend time with my four-year old son, and when I have time to spare, I enjoy going out and having some fun!  After I graduate, I hope to get into the MFT program here at ULV, and continue with my Ph.D. I hope this year is a great year for Psi Chi and by working together we can achieve the many goals we have.

Secretary: Isis Romero
Hometown:

My name is Isis Romero and I am a senior at ULV. I will be graduating in the Spring of 2008. I am very happy and excited to be this year's Psi Chi Secretary. Having participated in this organization since last year, I have been able to see all the good things that Psi Chi brings not only to our school but to our community as well. I am glad that I am part of an organization that not only combines Psychology but service and leadership. After I graduate from ULV, I plan to pursue my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I have been serving as advisor to Psi Chi at ULV for 5 years and enjoy working with students and organizing events and activities related to psychology. Currently, I teach undergraduate courses in psychology and my research interests center around teaching and learning processes, social cognition, and decision making. I hope to engage students in pursuing their research interests and to encourage them to be successful professionals in their fields.
