Welcome to the home page of the student chapter at the University of La Verne. SPJ is the largest professional journalism organization in the country and has been an industry leader for more than 90 years. It's the Guild — the Club. In our highly competitive industry, you need to join. So you've taken J-100. Survived the gauntlet of introductory video and radio production. You can write a summary lead, edit a package and operate a mixing board like a pro. You're getting the knowledge and skills.

What's missing? That's right — the people who are actually going to hire you.

President's Message

Greetings fellow journalists,

Recently Matthew Loriso, our adviser George Keeler and I had the great opportunity to represent our chapter at the national convention in Washington D.C. This year, my hope is we can increase our membership, host informative student-oriented seminars and lectures, and be an active and helpful organization on campus. Pretty soon our club Web site will be updated and completely expanded to include a president's blog, more resources as well as a photo gallery. Check back periodically.

We have had a good run so far thanks to everyone’s hard work and dedication. Let's keep it up so we may remain the premier student chapter in the Inland Valley.
